Magic Skin Balm - Holistic Tattoo Aftercare

This Magic Skin Balm is formulated with the intention to create a spiritual balm for tattoo aftercare. It’s not just regular aftercare, even though each of the ingredients work magic for healing the skin. A tattoo is a portal and right after getting a new permanent marking on the skin, the portal is open. This balm is created to gently seal the energetic portal, while also providing soothing care for the tattoo wound. Since a tattoo also has an energetic impact on our energetic field, this balm can also be used to “charge up” older tattoo’s. Even though this Magic Skin Balm is created for tattoo’s, it’s just as much an all purpose balm that can be used for some extra loving skin care.

Almond oil is full of nutritions (like antioxidants and vitamine E) and provides deep hydration for the skin. Almond in Hebrew means: “to awake” and in Ancient Egypt almond oil was also a symbol of wakefulness. Almonds blossoming signals the awakening of Spring. In magic, almond corresponds with universal love, prosperity, luck and fertility and is a popular oil for sacred anointment.

Jojoba seeds have been traditionally used to create salves for healing skin conditions. Just like almond oil, jojoba is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E. It absorbs deeply into the skin and protects against harsh environmental conditions. Jojoba oil is ruled by the Moon and the Water element, and magically corresponds with love and healing. It’s a skin rejuvenator and is related to beauty, self esteem and vitality.

Beeswax is an age old symbol for seals. It has been historically used to seal magical bottles and documents, which makes it a perfect ingredient to seal a fresh tattoo. The Magic Skin Balm contains beeswax that was harvested by a small local beekeeper in the south of The Netherlands, so this balm is also a contribution to the eco system and the support of bees. Bees are the most common pollinators and allow flowers and plants (including food crops) to reproduce and thus are a major factor of the biodiversity we depend on. The spirit of the bee resonates with the planet Mars, they are truly warrior spirits. Yet, they have a sacred association with the Mother Goddess because they are matriarchal and the products they produce are sweet and nourishing. There’s a reason why honey has been called “food of the Gods”…

Both lavender oil and rosemary oil are antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. They both support wound healing and ward off infections. Lavender brings relaxation and harmony to the spirit, while rosemary brings mental clarity and concentration. These pure etheric oils were made by a small local plant nursery company in the south of The Netherlands.
